Job summary

Coury Hospitality, based in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a motivated line cook to join our culinary team. You will prepare breakfast through dinner, banquet and event items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines, while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have prior commercial cooking or high-volume kitchen experience, strong knife skills, and familiarity with food-safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial cooking or line cook experience preferred.
• Hotel, restaurant, resort, banquet, or high-volume culinary experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, temperature controls, and proper food handling procedures.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs.
• Food Handler Certification or ServSafe Certification, where required by law.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquet, and event menu items per recipes and standards.
• Set up, stock, organize, and break down kitchen stations to support service.
• Prepare ingredients by chopping, portioning, weighing, and storing for daily production.
• Cook a variety of menu items using grilling, roasting, sautéing, baking, and other techniques.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, temperatures, and consistency throughout prep and service.
• Maintain proper food rotation, labeling, storage, cooling, and sanitation procedures.
• Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and keep workstations clean and organized.
