Job summary

Muckleshoot Casino is hiring for a kitchen position in Auburn, WA. You will season and cook food, maintain quality and presentation, and work with leads to ensure efficient operation. The role requires food preparation, weighing ingredients, and maintaining sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Two-year culinary certificate or 2+ years experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Ability to obtain a Class III B gaming license.

Responsibilities

• Season and cook food according to recipes or judgment.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils.
• Maintain proper food quality and presentation.
• Label and date products for rotation and sanitation.

• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Observe and test foods todetermineif they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
• Ensure proper presentation to provide maximum appeal and freshness.
• Maintain production knowledge and attention to detail with taste and quality.
• Produce products in acost effectiveand hygienic manner.
• Assist Lead Line Cooks in a support role.
• Constantly strive to improve operating procedures.
• Properly label and date all products to ensure rotation, safekeeping, and sanitation.
• Ensure food quality is superior andtakesaction to correct any irregularities.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
• Work within the sanitation standards and in compliance of MIC, local, state, and federal regulations, and guidelines.
• Work with others to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
• Create, maintain, andfacilitatea positive work environment; promotes positive team member relations and reports issues to the appropriate personnel.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Ability to obtain a Class III B gaming license.
• Two (2)year certificate from an accredited culinary program or minimum 2 years’ experiencein a commercial kitchen required.
