ArribaAbajo, a Cantina-themed Bar and Restaurant inside Thompson Austin—part of a Thompson Hotel complex—opens in early Spring with 17,000 sq ft indoor/outdoor dining and lounge spaces, private events venues, and a pool deck serving hotel guests and residents.

The Line Cook role requires strong communication and culinary skills; prior hotel cooking experience and a culinary degree are preferred. The position focuses on single-station work with supervision and training as needed.

Qualifications

• Refined verbal communication skills.
• 2 years of previous line experience preferred.
• Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred.
• Candidate should be able to perform all basic cooking skills.
• Able to work single station in the kitchen.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must have open availability including day shift, evening shifts, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• The Line Cook will work single stations in the kitchen and require supervision.
• In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations and produce a consistent product meeting guest needs.
• Monitor food production, quality, and consistency daily; manage staffing levels and training.
• Provide direction when the Sous’ absence and support restaurant operations.
