Job summary

Southern Tier is seeking a Line Cook to join our kitchen team in Pittsburgh. You’ll prepare ingredients, build lines, and contribute to consistently plated, high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll work under the Executive Chef, handle prep to post-shift duties, maintain cleanliness, and uphold food safety standards. A collaborative mindset and pride in craft are essential to thrive with our close-knit crew.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a prep/line cook
• Basic understanding of sanitation and regulations for workplace safety
• Understanding of food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures
• Ability to perform well in a high-paced environment
• Ability to multitask and work in a high volume setting

Responsibilities

• Prepare meal ingredients following recipes and line builds as directed by the Executive Chef or manager on duty
• Lead station setup and ensure proper cooking procedures, plating, flavor, temperature, and ticket time
• Independently prepare menu items to order and ensure line build accuracy
• Perform quality control and post-shift duties including cleaning and stocking
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene codes and standards and assist with events as needed
