Job description

Join to apply for the Line Cook 1 role at Great Lakes Brewing Company.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare menu items according to recipes, plate presentations, and specifications in a timely fashion.
  2. Maintain product presentations, quality, and cook time standards.
  3. Complete all assigned prep work.
  4. Set up work station according to station diagram.
  5. Practice sanitary and safe food handling at all times.
  6. Clean and sanitize the work area before, during, and after shift.
  7. Complete all assigned cleaning projects.
  8. Attend and participate in daily kitchen meetings.
  9. Fully stock station for the next shift.
  10. Help maintain the cleanliness of the entire back of house (BOH).
  11. Ensure walk-ins and dry storage areas are cleaned and organized daily.
  12. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum two years of prior experience, preferably with from-scratch cuisine.
  • A passion for organics and creative cuisine.
  • Ability to work evenings and Saturdays regularly.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to take direction from supervisor.
  • Capable of using knives, slicing equipment, and other food prep tools.
  • Mobility required during entire shift, including climbing stairs.
  • Willing to work flexible and extended hours as needed.
