Position Summary

Prep and Line Cooks ensure that each guest receives an unforgettable meal. Prepares dishes according to Primanti Bros. recipes and specifications in a timely manner.

Essential Functions

Note: The player may be required to fulfill obligations of several or all positions.

  1. Prepares a variety of food, with diverse methods of preparation, adhering to specific product and prep handling procedures, and plate presentation on all stations including Appetizer, Bread & Fries, Grill, Pizza, and Salad.
  2. Prepares all food items required on the Prep List, labels all food according to Shelf Life Chart.
  3. Completes assigned prep work to stock and set up stations as necessary.
  4. Adheres to all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  5. Follows proper HACCP temperature procedures, and temping product when appropriate.
  6. Uses Waste Log and Cooldown Charts when appropriate.
  7. Prepares all orders to recipe specifications and in a timely manner.
  8. Communicates ticket times and potential problems with Service Assistant, Coach, Bartender, or Server as needed.
  9. Ensures proper rotation of all products and stocks product to par.
  10. Maintains a cooperative and harmonious working relationship with all team members.
  11. Helps team stay caught up with dishes in the dish area.
  12. Completes opening, shift change, and closing checklists, as well as weekly and monthly cleaning tasks.
  13. Performs other duties as needed per Coach request.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Good communication skills, friendly, and people-oriented.
  • Enthusiastic, dependable, courteous, and able to multitask.
  • Possesses basic math skills.
Qualification Standards

Stands 100% of the shift. Lifts and carries weights up to 50 lbs. during shift. Able to hold items with hands (knives, pans) for extended periods, with up to 5 lbs of weight. Frequently bends and stoops. Works often in hot environments and/or with open flames. Frequently works with sharp knives and utensils, hot plates, and kitchen machinery. Able to read tickets and communicate effectively with team members to ensure guest satisfaction.
