Job summary

Broken Rocks Cafe and Bakery / Rox Gastropub in Wooster, OH is seeking a line cook to prepare and cook items per recipes, maintain sanitation, and assist with inventory. Flexible hours, with part-time or full-time options; Sundays and major holidays are closed.

Starting wage ranges from $12 to $15 per hour, and we offer benefits including uniforms, meals, and health coverage. No relocation required; on-site kitchen positions available now.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent training.
• Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience with multiple cooking methods and proper food handling.
• We are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock food items and supplies.
• Prepare and cook food by grilling, frying, sautéing, and following recipes.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation; store items properly.
• Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces at shift end.
• Assist with inventory checks and food storage logs.

Job description

• Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
• Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
• Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
• Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
• Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

We serve lunch and dinner and shifts might vary because of that and we will need someone who can work on flexible hours. We offer part time or full-time employment. We are closed on Sundays and all major holidays. Starting wages $12-$15hr

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
• Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred
• Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
• Familiar with industry best practices
• We are willing to train
