Creates delectable and creative menu items in our Farm to Fork Forsyth Grill Restaurant under the direction of our Chef De Cuisine and Chef De Parties. The role involves preparing entrees in our banquet operation during PM dinner service, with occasional Sunday shifts. Founded in 1913, Forsyth Country Club is a historic and distinguished club in Winston-Salem, NC, situated on 172 acres with facilities including a clubhouse, banquet rooms, golf course, tennis courts, pool, and fitness pavilion, serving approximately 1,000 member families.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare dishes according to standards set by the Chef De Cuisine.
- Execute mise en place per station requirements, ensuring readiness for service.
- Prepare items per order with proper portions and presentation.
- Notify culinary leadership of product needs and quality concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all production areas and equipment.
- Assist in maintaining kitchen safety and security.
- Maintain professional appearance and hygiene standards.
- Set up, maintain, and break down prep stations.
- Assist in requisitioning ingredients and organizing mis en place.
- Follow health regulations (ServSafe certification is a plus).
- Rotate and store mis en place properly, ensuring high sanitary standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and culinary managers.
- Recommend maintenance and repairs for kitchen equipment.
- Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
- Monitor food temperatures to ensure safety and quality.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Work efficiently under busy conditions with professionalism.
- Passion for culinary arts and willingness to grow skills.
Education, Certification, and Experience
- Prior restaurant or food production experience required.
- Culinary training preferred but not mandatory.
- High school diploma required.
