Job summary

Atkins Golf Club at the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL, is seeking a part-time Line Cook for a seasonal role lasting up to six months. Compensation is $17.50–$18.00 per hour, with a schedule of about 32 hours per week.

This position is part of Troon’s hospitality-focused team and offers growth opportunities. Responsibilities include preparing food per recipes, maintaining sanitation, expediting orders, supporting banquet functions, and managing inventory.

Qualifications

• Associates Culinary Degree and 2 years of culinary experience and/or training or equivalent.
• Serv Safe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the proper amount of food according to production sheets and plans.
• Prepares items in accordance with recipes for consistent quality.
• Learns and maintains standards in food production and quality.
• Expedites orders in a timely manner.
• Practices sanitation and safety standards.
• Executes scheduled banquet functions.
• Receives deliveries and reports variances to chef in charge.
• Maintains proper cooler temperatures and daily cleaning.
• Manages inventory rotation and minimizes waste.
• Prepares inventory requisitions and orders supplies as needed.
• Communicates equipment repair needs with the chef.

Atkins Golf Club at the University of Illinois, located in Urbana, IL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Line Cook! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Role Type:
Seasonal (Position will last 6 months or less)

Compensation:

$17.50 - $18.00

Schedule:

Working approximately 32 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities of the Line Cook:

• Prepares the proper amount of food according to production or forecast sheets and production plans.
• Prepares items in accordance with established recipes for a consistent product.
• Learns and maintains standards in food production and quality.
• Expedite orders in a timely manner.
• Practices excellent operational sanitation.
• Executes scheduled banquet functions.
• Checks and dates all deliveries received reporting any variances to chef in charge.
• Verifies that all coolers are at the proper temperatures and are cleaned on a daily basis.
• Monitors inventory rotation to maintain fresh product with little or no waste.
• Prepares inventory requisition and receive supplies as necessary for quality production.
• Communicate equipment repair needs with chef in a timely manner.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Minimum Qualifications for the Line Cook:

• Associates Culinary Degree and 2 years of Culinary Experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Serv Safe Certified preferred
