Summary:

A line cook prepares food to be served to guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Follow food safety and health code regulations.
2. Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using Pita Jungle recipes, utilizing kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, etc.
3. Ensure the quality of products served.
4. Comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies.
5. Stock and maintain sufficient food levels at line stations.
6. Portion food prior to cooking according to standards.
7. Maintain a clean and sanitary work station.
8. Prepare items for cooking by portioning, seasoning, and marinating.
9. Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup.
10. Handle, store, and rotate products properly.
11. Complete tasks within designated timeframes.
12. Track and report food waste.
13. Assist in food prep during off-peak periods.
14. Open and close the kitchen following checklists.
15. Cook only items generated from the POS system.
16. Address and report issues with returned meals.
17. Wear gloves and hair restraints when handling food.
18. Maintain hygiene standards.
19. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager-on-duty.

Work Environment

Regularly stand, walk, talk, use hands, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Must have good vision and stamina for up to 40 hours/week and flexible shifts.
