Job Opportunity: Jr. Line Cook

Location: San Francisco, CA

Pay Rate: $24 per hour (non-exempt)

Role Overview

As a Jr. Line Cook at Chotto Matte San Francisco, you're the backbone of our culinary team, ensuring every dish meets our standards. Your expertise and passion for cooking will contribute to unforgettable dining experiences. Your responsibilities include executing dishes flawlessly, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting team operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute culinary creations with precision, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Collaborate with fellow cooks and chefs for smooth kitchen operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization, following food safety guidelines.
  • Assist in inventory management and ingredient procurement.
  • Seek opportunities to improve culinary skills and techniques.
  • Adapt to changing demands during busy service periods.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in training and team meetings for professional growth.
Physical Demands
  • Stand and walk for up to 8–10 hours in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and crouch frequently.
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds; use PPE as required.
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment safely.
  • Work in hot, humid, or refrigerated environments.
  • Maintain visual acuity and manual dexterity for kitchen tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably with Nikkei, Peruvian, or Japanese cuisine.
  • Knowledge of modern and traditional cooking techniques.
  • Understanding of food safety standards and high-volume kitchen operations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Passion for high-quality, authentic dishes.
  • Flexible availability, including nights and weekends.
