Job summary

DoubleTree Salt Lake City is seeking a kitchen team member responsible for meal preparation and maintaining high F&B standards. You will plan and prepare items for our restaurant and catering events, manage costs, and ensure guest satisfaction.

The role requires teamwork, efficiency, and adherence to sanitation policies in a fast-paced hotel environment. You will assist with inventory, food orders, and collaboration with Sales for catering orders, while keeping work areas clean and organized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum one year of hospitality or restaurant food service experience.
• Basic kitchen cleanliness standards and equipment knowledge.
• Read, write, and communicate effectively with colleagues and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare various food items for hotel restaurant and catering functions.
• Understand food cost and portion control without sacrificing quality.
• Assist with quality, presentation, cleanliness, and organization of the kitchen and restaurant.
• Accommodate guests' special requests.
• Maintain a clean work area and practice 'clean as you go'.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and receiving of food and beverage items.
• Support sanitation and safety standards for anyone entering the kitchen.
• Coordinate catering reservations and food prep with Sales; ensure guest satisfaction.
• Assist with training and supervision of kitchen staff as needed.
• Watch for safety hazards and report them to the supervisor.
• Other kitchen duties as assigned.

Ensuring all F&B Standards are met to ensure our Guests feel the value and cared for.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESPlan and prepare various food items and meals for hotel restaurant and catering functions, following proper food handling and safety guidelinesUnderstand food cost and portion control without sacrificing quality.Assist with quality and presentation issues, cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and the restaurant when necessary.Accommodate guests’ special requests.Maintain clean work area, practicing “clean as you go” policyAssist with inventory, ordering, and receiving of all food and beverage items as directed.Assist with any reports as required (inventory, food costs, beverage costs, etc)Maintain sanitation and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen area.Coordinate catering reservations and Food preparation with the Sales Department and ensure guest satisfaction. Frequent repetitive motions with arms, wrists, hands, and legs.
