The Nassau Diner, a member of Genesis Hospitality, is looking for an energetic Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will assist in food preparation and support the Executive Chef while delivering excellent customer service.

We value reliability, teamwork and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, onsite role with flexible weekend shifts and opportunities for training and growth within Genesis Hospitality.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus, however not required.

Mansioni

• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
• Executes service and production of food products for all/any areas of the kitchen.
• Recognizes quality standards in vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products.
• Assists with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen and storage areas.
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Kitchen Manager.
• Maintain assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.
• Handle food in a manner consistent with health department guidelines.
• Follow safety regulations and report injuries or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, mornings, evenings.

Line Cook

Job Summary

The Nassau Diner, a member of Genesis Hospitality, is currently seeking an energetic, and team-oriented Line Cook for its rewarding team. We are hiring for Full Time!

The Line Cook will assist in the food preparation and with any requests the Executive Chef has, as well to provide an outstanding customer service to the clientele.

Essential Functions

• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications
• Executes service and production of food products for all/any areas of the kitchen
• Recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, and all storage areas
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Kitchen Manager
• Maintain assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition
• Handle food in a manner that is consistent with local health department guidelines
• Follow proper food handling techniques and coordinates the use of time, material and equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expense
• Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene
• Comply with department’s dress code
• Follow safety regulations, reporting injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor

• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, mornings, evenings.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Well developed and multi-tasking, organizational skills, and detailed oriented.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
• Candidate must be dependable and reliable.
