Job summary

Buzz Hospitality is seeking kitchen staff to contribute to a high-volume, full-service operation in Portland, ME. You will prepare high-quality menu items, assist with prep, and maintain clean, organized stations to support efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Preparing high quality, timely food menu items for general service and events to exact specs.
• Completing prep and portioning lists as directed by the Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef.
• Slicing, dicing and restocking stations to support service without supervision.
• Adhering to health and sanitation SOPs and maintaining clean workstations.
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen small wares and equipment.
• Ensuring setup and breakdown tasks are completed to standard.

Rí Rá (roughly translated as "Good Fun") has been a labor of love for Ciaran Sheehan and David Kelly, two childhood friends from Ireland, since they emigrated to the USA in the 1990’s. The duo’s mission was to create a gathering place like those pubs that they knew so well from their hometowns in Ireland. Such a place would have authentic Irish interiors, would be welcoming to all and would act as a “social hub” for the local community; a “Real Irish Local”. Rí Rá on the waterfront in downtown Portland, ME, encompasses a fantastic community oriented 2-storey pub & restaurant with multiple bars and some of the best views in the city. • You have experience in a high-volume, full-service scratch kitchen
• You ideally have any State or County required license requirements for the service of food

What You Will be Doing

• Preparing high quality, timely food menu items for general service and special / private events to the exact spec provided
• Completing items assigned on prep and portioning lists as outlined by the Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef / BOH Supervisor in preparation for service needs
• Taking initiative to prepare general items (slicing and dicing etc.) for service to restock stations without the need for significant guidance
• Adhering to all Company SOP’s with regards to health & sanitation
• Keeping work-stations clean, organized and inspection ready at all times
• Cleaning and maintaining all small wares and equipment in the kitchen
• Ensuring that set-up and break-down tasks are completed to standard
• Ensuring that all local and state laws are followed as related to the service of food and the BOH facility in general
