Job summary

DOWN UNDER PUBS LLC is seeking a self-motivated line cook for Brooklyn Ice House in Red Hook. The candidate should have at least 1 year of line cook experience and be able to handle a fast-paced bar/restaurant kitchen. A strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to prep and support next shifts are essential.

Hours are Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun 9am-5pm. Candidates living nearby or with reliable transportation are preferred due to Red Hook commuting challenges.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience as a line cook.
• ServeSafe or Food Handler Certification.
• Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and recipes.
• Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Create menus according to season and customer research.
• Set up the kitchen with necessary tools and equipment.
• Prepare food and present it in an appealing manner.
• Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and restock when necessary.
• Follow all food safety regulations.
• Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the head chef or management.

Job Summary Family owned bar and restaurant, Brooklyn Ice House, in Red Hook is seeking self motivated person that has experience in preparing foods to a standard in a fast paced environment. At least one year experience as a line cook is a must, the menu is rather small and typical bar fare (burgers, fries, wings, chili, pulled pork sandwiches, etc)

Need someone who is self motivated, works well by themselves, keep station clean and can work hard and prep/support for the next employee's shift. Thank you.

Please note that job is in Red Hook which is difficult to commute to. Cooks who live close or have reliable transportation preferred. Hours for position are: Monday 9am-5pm Wednesday 9am-5pm Friday 9am-5pm Sunday 9am-5pm
