Job description

Line Cook Job Description

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing their station, maintaining cleanliness, and executing their duties with excellence. This key role supports the kitchen's operations by safely preparing delicious food. You will work closely with James Beard Award-winning Chef Stephan Pyles, a renowned figure in Southwestern Cuisine.

Responsibilities:
  1. Set up and break down your station daily.
  2. Assist with stocking, labeling, dating, ordering, receiving, and following food safety procedures.
  3. Prepare food by cleaning, cutting ingredients, and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks.
  4. Plate foods according to the senior chef’s guidance.
  5. Coordinate with servers to ensure timely and accurate order completion.
  6. Clean the kitchen and utensils, and store equipment at shift end.
  7. Ensure kitchen procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.
  8. Inspect food prep and storage areas for compliance with health codes and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimal work experience.
  • Ability to work in hot and damp environments.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Flexible schedule and adaptability to operational demands.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Willingness to follow all food safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • State-issued Food Handler certification.
Compensation:

$17.00 - $20.00 hourly
