- Preparing and cooking food: Following recipes and established standards, Line Cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, often using specific cooking methods and equipment.
- Food preparation: They may be responsible for basic food prepping, including washing, cutting, and preparing ingredients for cooking.
- Station management: Line Cooks may be assigned to a specific station, like a sauté station, pizza station, or cold station, and are responsible for maintaining that station and ensuring it is properly stocked.
- Quality control: They ensure the highest quality food is prepared by adhering to recipe procedures and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
- Communication: Line Cooks must communicate clearly and respectfully with managers and other team members.
- Cleaning and maintenance: They are responsible for keeping their work area clean and maintaining the kitchen's cleanliness and organization.
Physical requirements:
- Line Cooks typically stand for extended periods and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, and twist.
