Job summary

Bastion Hospitality LLC in Houston is seeking a skilled cook to join our team and help deliver consistent, high-quality dishes. You will execute recipes, maintain equipment, and ensure timely service across assigned kitchen stations.

A flexible schedule including nights and weekends is required. We value passion for hospitality and strong English communication; prior reservation system knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional cooking experience in a restaurant or similar establishment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to perform basic math for portions and measurements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Organized, motivated, and personable; working knowledge of reservation management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees assigned areas of culinary production and ensures service runs smoothly.
• Executes recipes, maintains kitchen equipment, and stays on time.
• Uses basic cooking techniques: measuring, knife skills, sautéing, grilling, roasting, poaching, etc.

Job description

Your Responsibilities:

• Oversees assigned areas of culinary production and works service.
• Execute recipes, maintain kitchen equipment, and always be on time
• Use working knowledge of basic cooking techniques; measuring, knife skills, sautéing, grilling, roasting, poaching, etc.
• Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards of the restaurant.

Your Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience professional cooking experience in restaurant or establishment of similar caliber.
• High School Diploma, or equivalent level of education, required (Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, speak and interpret documents in clear English.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule. (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
• You must be organized, motivating, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and of course personable. Working knowledge of reservation management systems is highly preferred.
