Join to apply for the Line Cook role at Block 3 Kitchen & Bar.

Opportunity: Line Cook

Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and established guest service and sustainability standards.

Your Growth Path: Lead Cook – Sous Chef – Assistant to the Head Chef

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards.
  2. Begin food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over-prepare estimated needs.
  3. Date all food containers and rotate per Hersha Hospitality standards, ensuring perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
  4. Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line setup. Note any out-of-stock items or shortages.
  5. Return unused food items to storage, covering and dating perishables.
  6. Assist in plans to control food costs, waste, loss, and usage per Hersha Hospitality standards.
  7. Operate, maintain, and clean kitchen tools and equipment properly.
  8. Follow sustainability guidelines related to HHM’s EarthView program.
  9. Practice safe work habits, wear protective equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
  10. Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Background and Skills:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. 2 years of related experience.
