Job summary

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, seeks an experienced Trimmer to join our team in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Preferably with climbing experience and/or a CDL, you will service local utility lines and work outdoors as part of a crew.

Full-time, on-site role with excellent benefits and advancement opportunities. Compensation starts at $20 per hour, with comprehensive health and retirement options for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Must complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance or related tree work experience.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Prune and remove trees safely for utility providers.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Identify trees and apply industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as part of an active crew with ground crew and foreperson.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Trimmer, preferably with climbing experience and/or a CDL, to join our team servicing the city of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Job Duties

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson
