Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking an Experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to join our field crew serving Cambridge, OH and surrounding counties. This on-site role involves climbing, pruning, and clearing vegetation for major utility providers, with CDL and climbing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to climb and perform pruning and removal safely.
• Completion of Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Completion of Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses upon hire.
• Required: valid driver's license.
• Preferred: CDL-A/B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform pruning and removal for utilities using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees safely for major electric utilities.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts.
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.
• Growth potential depends on performance.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an Experienced Line Clearance Trimmer, preferably a Climber and/or with a CDL, joining a team servicing the Guernsey and Tuscarawas County, Ohio regions which includes: Cambridge, Dover, and New Philadelphia.

Job Duties

What You'll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We're Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver's license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver's License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
