Job summary

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, seeks an Experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to service Guernsey and Tuscarawas County, OH regions including Cambridge, Dover, and New Philadelphia. Work is on site with climbing duties and daily outdoor operation.

Experience with utility line clearance is valued; a valid license is required, with CDL preferred. Comprehensive benefits and a strong incentive program accompany permanent, full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticides licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees as needed.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and objects.
• Identify trees and apply pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and chippers.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an Experienced Line Clearance Trimmer, preferably a Climber and/or with a CDL, joining a team servicing the Guernsey and Tuscarawas County, Ohio regions which includes: Cambridge, Dover, and New Philadelphia.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson
