Job summary

HOLT Group in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Shop Welder Technician 3 focused on Line Bore to perform complex welding repairs, fabrication, and line boring on heavy construction equipment. The role requires working from blueprints, and installing/removing components with minimal supervision.

The candidate should have FCAW and SMAW welding expertise, experience with line boring, and the ability to read drawings, use dimensional tools, and follow technical procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; with additional specialized/technical training or some college courses (Welding Technology) preferred.
• Three years’ heavy equipment welding experience required.
• Welding certifications to complete during this level is SMAW (stick) 1” T-1 material (3G and 4G) welding processes.
• Ability to read, write, and understand information with the ability to follow directions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Executes complicated repairs, fabrication and welding on heavy equipment and components in a shop environment.
• Conducts complicated carbon arc gouging, oxy/acetylene torch beveling and welding with different welding processes.
• Completes most line boring jobs with minimal supervision.
• Accurately prepares technical inspection and service reports, documents, and any other necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
