Job summary

Simplot Company in Grand Forks, ND seeks a Line Operator to manage Line 3 operations to maximize run time, product quality, and raw product recovery, while upholding safety and production goals.

You will monitor blancher systems, weigh belts and other equipment, read training materials, and work with team leaders to ensure clean, sanitary, and efficient line performance. A High School diploma and a solid safety/attendance record are required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must have completed the Job Skill Evaluation successfully.
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisions and calculate percentages to make proper adjustment as required.
• Must have an acceptable safety record.
• Must have an acceptable attendance record.
• Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the monitoring of the blancher circulation system and flushes/unplugs this system as necessary.
• Check all equipment in the area to ensure it is fully functional.
• Ensures that Team Leaders, mechanics and other shift support personnel are notified regarding changes in Line 3 conditions.
• Monitors the weigh belt, blancher, quencher, fryer and freezer systems in Wonderware.
• Able to read and understand training materials and other information related to the job and complete paperwork in a timely manner.
• Ensures that the oil system is operated safely and correctly to maintain proper filtration and free fatty acid levels (FFA).
• Ensures the preparation of additives and monitors their flow into the transfer system.
• Perform Fry-ups and take Agtron color measurements to make any necessary color adjustments.
• Ensures work area is maintained in a sanitary condition to prevent product contamination and efficient operations of all activities including start-up and major sanitation.
• Performs bi-weekly major cleanup.
• Ensure materials are supplied for all equipment on the line.
