Job summary

The Simplot Company in Grand Forks, ND is hiring a Production Operator to manage Line 3 operations, maximizing run time, product quality, and raw material recovery while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will monitor the blancher system, check equipment, coordinate with Team Leaders and maintenance, and operate weigh belt, blancher, quencher, fryer and freezer systems. High School diploma required; ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the Job Skill Evaluation successfully.
• Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisions and calculate percentages.
• Must have an acceptable safety and attendance record.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Monitor blancher circulation system; perform flushes/unplugs as needed.
• Check all equipment in the area for full functionality.
• Notify Team Leaders and maintenance about Line 3 condition changes.
• Use unscheduled/scheduled downtime effectively.
• Monitor weigh belt, blancher, quencher, fryer and freezer systems (Wonderware).
• Read training materials and complete paperwork promptly.
• Maintain safe oil system operation and proper filtration/FFA levels.
• Prepare additives and monitor flow into transfer system.
• Perform fry-ups and Agtron color measurements for color adjustments.
• Maintain sanitary work area to prevent contamination and ensure efficient startup and sanitation.
• Conduct bi-weekly major cleanup.
• Ensure materials are supplied for all equipment on the line.

Summary

This position will ensure management of Line 3 operations to achieve maximum run time, product quality, and raw product recovery. This is to be accomplished in a manner consistent with safety, quality and production goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the monitoring of the blancher circulation system and flushes/unplugs this system as necessary.
• Check all equipment in the area to ensure it is fully functional.
• Ensures that Team Leaders, mechanics and other shift support personnel are notified regarding changes in Line 3 conditions.
• Utilize unscheduled/scheduled down-times.
• Monitors the weigh belt, blancher, quencher, fryer and freezer systems in Wonderware.
• Able to read and understand training materials and other information related to the job and complete paperwork in a timely manner.
• Ensures that the oil system is operated safely and correctly to maintain proper filtration and free fatty acid levels (FFA).
• Ensures the preparation of additives and monitors their flow into the transfer system.
• Perform Fry-ups and take Agtron color measurements to make any necessary color adjustments.
• Ensures work area is maintained in a sanitary condition to prevent product contamination and efficient operations of all activities including start-up and major sanitation.
• Performs bi-weekly major cleanup.
• Ensure materials are supplied for all equipment on the line.

Typical Education

High School graduate or equivalent
