Job summary

Richesin Engineering in Madras, Oregon seeks an Oregon-licensed Limited Energy Technician Class B (LEB) to join our field team. This hands-on role involves pulling and terminating Cat6, running fiber, installing cameras and access control, and supporting wireless/telecom equipment on tribal, government, and commercial projects.

Read installation drawings, perform basic fiber termination, and complete daily field reports while adhering to Oregon electrical code.

Qualifications

• Active Oregon LEB license required.
• 2+ years of hands-on low voltage or telecom field experience.
• Proficiency with structured cabling: Cat6 termination and patch panels.
• Ability to read installation drawings and cable schedules.
• Valid Oregon driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Reliable, self-directed with minimal supervision on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems — Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber.
• Run and dress cable in commercial, government, and industrial environments.
• Install and commission surveillance cameras, access control systems, and intercom/paging equipment.
• Mount, cable, and connect wireless and telecom equipment including antennas and radios.
• Install data racks, patch panels, and cable management in equipment rooms.
• Perform basic fiber termination and testing (fusion splicing experience a plus).
• Read and work from installation drawings and cable schedules.
• Complete accurate as-built documentation and daily field reports.
• Work safely and maintain compliance with Oregon electrical code on all low voltage work.

The Role

Richesin Engineering installs and maintains the low voltage infrastructure that keeps communities connected — from tribal government networks across central Oregon to wireless systems in remote Alaska. We're looking for an Oregon-licensed Limited Energy Technician Class B (LEB) to join our field team out of Madras.

This role is hands-on field work: pulling and terminating Cat6, running fiber, installing cameras and access control systems, mounting and cabling wireless and telecom equipment. You'll work alongside our network engineers and project managers on projects that matter — tribal broadband, emergency communications, government facilities, and commercial deployments.

What You'll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Active Oregon Limited Energy Technician Class B (LEB) license — required
• 2+ years of hands-on low voltage or telecom field experience
• Proficiency with structured cabling — Cat6 termination, patch panel installation, cable testing
• Comfortable working in ceilings, crawl spaces, equipment rooms, and outdoor environments
• Able to read installation drawings and cable schedules
• Valid Oregon driver’s license and clean driving record
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision on job sites

Nice to Have

• Fusion splicing or fiber termination experience
• BICSI Installer or similar certification
• Experience with IP camera systems (Axis, Hanwha, Hikvision, etc.)
• Familiarity with wireless/telecom equipment installation (antennas, radios, mounts)
• OSHA 10 certification
• Experience on tribal, federal, or municipal projects

The Honest Part

You'll spend real time in ceilings, on ladders, and occasionally in places that are either very hot or very cold depending on the season. The work is physical. Some projects require travel within Oregon. We provide the tools, the truck, and the support — you bring the license, the work ethic, and the ability to pull 500 feet of Cat6 without complaining about it. We treat our field crew with respect and pay fairly for good work.
