Job summary

Applied Technical Services, LLC (ATS) in Houston, TX is seeking a hands-on Lightning Protection Technician to inspect, install, repair, and retrofit lightning protection systems on commercial buildings and industrial facilities.

You will work with air terminals, conductors, bonding connections, grounding electrodes, and related components in field settings, often at heights, with travel across the Houston area and occasional out-of-state assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong hands-on experience using common hand and power tools (impact drivers, drills, hammer drills, grinders, wrenches, sockets, torque wrenches, crimping tools).
• Works well in a team and can collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Consultants, and Technicians.
• Positive attitude, dependable, and able to follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect existing lightning protection systems on commercial and industrial facilities.
• Install, repair, retrofit, and replace components including air terminals, conductors, bonding connections, grounding electrodes, connectors, and fittings.
• Assist with layout and routing based on drawings and field conditions.
• Use hand and power tools and installation equipment.
• Perform field testing, measurements, and visual inspections.
• Work safely on rooftops and at heights with fall protection.
• Document field conditions and maintain accurate notes for reports.
