Job summary

United Utility Services is seeking a Lighting Technician to install, maintain, and repair lighting systems across our utility projects in central Mississippi. You will work with technical teams to ensure safe, efficient lighting for our communities and infrastructure.

The role requires at least 2 years in lighting or electrical maintenance, the ability to read electrical diagrams, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of lighting/electrical maintenance experience.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Ability to work safely at heights and on aerial lifts or ladders.
• Familiarity with national and local electrical standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair electrical lighting systems, both indoor and outdoor.
• Interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical documents for lighting projects.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance of lighting equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in lighting circuits, controls, and fixtures.
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and electrical codes.
• Operate tools, testing equipment, and lift platforms safely during service calls.
• Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to meet project deadlines.
• Maintain clear records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
• Participate in safety training and workplace hazard analyses.
