Job summary

Current Lighting in Greenville, SC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support maintenance, growth, and continuous improvement of a portfolio of lighting products. You will collaborate with manufacturing, product management, quality, sourcing, and engineering teams to deliver high‑quality solutions that meet customer and business needs.

The role includes leading profitability initiatives, supporting technology updates, overseeing NPD activities, and designing PCBs and drawings.

Qualifications

• 4-year engineering degree required.
• MS Excel proficiency required.
• 2+ years of related experience preferred (lighting/system experience beneficial).
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• 2D and 3D CAD experience preferred.
• SAP ERP experience preferred.
• Altium/PCB layout software experience preferred.
• Excellent communications skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support profitability, performance, and market competitiveness improvements for key accounts.
• Support technology generational updates for electrical and mechanical subsystems.
• Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and product expansion initiatives.
• Provide technical support for project execution, customer inquiries, warranty investigations, quality initiatives, and technical service requests.
• Execute project activities per the New Product Development (NPD) process.
• Coordinate prototype builds, performance validation, and regulatory testing.
• Collaborate with suppliers, testing labs, manufacturing, and customers to meet project objectives.
• Create/maintain engineering drawings, design docs, and 3D models to support enhancements and manufacturing requests.
• Design PCBs for lighting systems meeting performance and regulatory requirements.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
