Job summary

RMF Engineering, Inc is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to work in one of our South Carolina offices (Charleston, Columbia, Greenville). The role covers power distribution design, lighting, and low-voltage systems for building/infrastructure projects.

The position requires 0–5 years of electrical design experience, a BS in Electrical Engineering, travel, and the potential for PE registration. Knowledge of SKM, NEC, and strong teamwork is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 0-5 years design experience with electrical systems.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally will be required.
• Professional registration or ability to obtain professional registration.
• Experience with power system modeling and analysis using SKM is a major plus.
• Ability to provide own local transportation to the office and local project sites.
• Ability to obtain necessary government security clearances may be required.

Responsibilities

• Power distribution, including riser diagrams and panel schedules.
• Lighting design, including fixture selection and controls.
• Low-voltage systems including fire alarm, security and controls.
• Calculate loads, fault current, and voltage drop.
• Performing field surveys and construction phase support.
