Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a Lighting & Fan Designer for its Own Brand Lighting Team. You will create cohesive lighting and fan collections from concept to production, translating market insight into commercially successful products.

The role involves design direction, collaboration with engineering and sourcing, and travel to vendor meetings and production sites. Remote in the US or hybrid in preferred locations.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of product design experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating original point of view and complete collections.
• Proven track record of bringing concepts to production on seasonal calendars.
• Strong understanding of lighting construction, materials, finishes, and production processes.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or Rhino.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign).
• Fluency in manufacturing documentation and production communication.
• Experience collaborating with manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

• Conceive and develop original lighting and fan collections responsive to market opportunities.
• Bring a clear design point of view grounded in research and trends.
• Balance design with commercial viability, manufacturing feasibility, and cost targets.
• Identify assortment gaps and expand finishes with Product Development.
• Create renderings, CAD models, drawings, and spec packages.
• Translate concepts into production-ready CAD with factory feasibility.
