Job summary

Stantec’s Lighting Design group in the United States is seeking a student intern to work with our award-winning team across multiple offices, including Denver, Austin, and other U.S. locations.

The role focuses on lighting design, fixture selection, controls, and energy code compliance in a hands-on setting with mentorship from experienced practitioners. The position is primarily in-person with some hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year degree in a design/engineering program with a focus on lighting design.
• Strong knowledge of Revit and BIM tools with willingness to collaborate across disciplines.
• Comfort translating design options into photometric and presentation materials.

Responsibilities

• Produce lighting layouts in Revit.
• Perform photometric calculations with AGI32 or LightStanza.
• Ensure energy code compliance calculations.
• Prepare reports and present design options.
• Develop presentations, renderings, and graphic packages.
• Create luminaire schedules and pull product specs.
• Develop and review mock-ups.
• Collaborate with the design team.
