Job summary

State of Hawaiʻi, Department of Transportation- Highways Division, seeks an Equipment Operator I to operate two or more types of light motorized equipment and assist with general construction and maintenance tasks. The position is a continuous recruitment with duties including operating tractors and trucks and performing related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of work experience operating at least two types of motorized equipment such as Farmall tractors and trucks.
• Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
• Ability to lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance or hoisting equipment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States as a citizen, national, or permanent resident or eligible for unrestricted employment.

Responsibilities

• Operates two (2) or more types of light motorized equipment as a major work assignment; may perform manual work tasks in general construction and maintenance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
