Job summary

State of HawaiʻiDepartment of Transportation – Highways Division in Lihue seeks a skilled truck operator. The role requires a CDL Class B with Endorsement N (Tank vehicles) and at least one year of truck operation experience. You may perform maintenance and related construction tasks as part of daily duties.

A valid out-of-state CDL may be accepted, with transfer to a Hawaii CDL before starting. Minimum qualifications are as stated; federal and state accommodations are provided upon request.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of work experience operating trucks with capacity > 1.5 tons.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States as required for Hawaii state government employment.
• CDL Class B with Endorsement N (Tank vehicles >= 1,000 gallons) and no restrictions on E, L, Z at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Operate a truck with capacity > 5 tons or a tank truck > 1,200 gallons as a major task.
• Perform maintenance and related general construction/maintenance duties as assigned.
• May perform manual tasks in connection with construction and maintenance work.
