Job description

LIGHT EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
ZACHRY is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Light Equipment Operator at the Exxon Beaumont Refinery. This position does not offer per diem.

Position Summary

Industrial Light Equipment Operators will operate construction equipment such as but not limited to bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, backhoes, rollers, forklifts, and graders to move earth and other materials. They will also be responsible for safety, equipment inspections, and possibly assisting with repairs. The position may require assisting other crafts during downtime, including non-operating activities.

Qualification Highlights
  • Must have 2+ years experience as an Equipment Operator.
  • Possess all Knowledge Skills and Abilities required for the position.
  • Must meet all physical requirements.
  • May require a valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle records check.
  • Must have all required tools.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
Job Responsibilities
  1. Operate various construction dirt equipment to move earth and equipment with precision.
  2. Inspect equipment regularly.
  3. Ensure safety during all operations.
  4. Follow signal directions from a signaler when applicable.
  5. Assess safety and operational conditions of the work area.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with operating construction equipment including but not limited to: bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, backhoes, rollers, RT forklifts, and graders.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to inspect equipment.
  • Knowledge of soil types and excavation specifications.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Reliability, accountability, and consistency in administrative tasks such as equipment inspection paperwork.
  • Willingness to follow all safety regulations.
  • Punctuality and flexibility to work scheduled hours and overtime with proper notification.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
  • Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
  • Previous experience with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Physical and Other Requirements

Employees will need to sit for extended periods, communicate verbally, and use arms and hands for signaling and handling objects. Lifting up to 50 lbs may be required. Visual acuity, dexterity, and the use of PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, masks, vests, and gloves are mandatory.
