Sedgwick County is seeking a Light Equipment Mechanic II to maintain and repair county vehicles and light equipment, including Sheriff pursuit vehicles and EMS ambulances. You will perform routine maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire inspections, and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of oil changes, tire and brake inspection experience, plus a valid driver's license and insurance.

Maintains and repairs County vehicles and equipment under one ton. Performs routine maintenance and diagnostic checks to ensure vehicles operate under the conditions in which they were designed. Must have ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
Perform preventative maintenance on light County vehicles including Sheriff pursuit vehicles and EMS Ambulances
Perform all diagnostic inspections and drivability inspections on vehicles and ambulances
Perform special projects as needed in shop
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Two years’ experience performing oil changes, tire inspections, and brake inspections, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance.
Preferred qualifications: ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification.
