Job summary

Transdev in Florence County seeks a Light Duty Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across vehicles and equipment. You will help keep assets safe, efficient, and ready for service while supporting PMs and safety inspections.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and ASE certifications (2 within 6 months). Competitive pay per hour with benefits and training opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent; Technical training preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• ASE Certifications preferred. Must obtain 2 ASEs within 6 months of employment.
• Demonstrated experience monitoring and meeting PM schedules and operating shop repair equipment.
• Appropriate mechanic's tool set.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair equipment to ensure vehicle readiness & safety.
• Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions.
• Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency services.

Light Duty Technician

Transdev in Florence County is seeking an experienced Light Equipment Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our assets.

Transdev is proud to offer:

• Competitive compensation package of minimum $18.00 - Maximum $22.00 /hour depending on experience depending on experience
• An additional $.10 per hour for each ASE certification you possess or obtain

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
