Job summary

Transdev North America is seeking an experienced Light Equipment Technician in Florence County to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across vehicles and equipment. You will help ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of assets through hands-on mechanical work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair equipment to ensure vehicle readiness and safety.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and DOT maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.

Job description

Transdev in Florence County is seeking an experienced Light Equipment Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair equipment to ensure vehicle readiness & safety.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions.
  • Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
  • Assist with mobile emergency services.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; Technical training preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • ASE Certifications preferred. Must obtain 2 ASEs within 6 months of employment.
  • Demonstrated experience monitoring and meeting PM schedules and operating shop repair equipment.
  • Appropriate mechanic's tool set.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
Physical Requirements
  • Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
