Job summary

Wintergreen Resort in Virginia is seeking a Lift Supervisor to open or close Lift Operations and assist the Lift/Tubing Operation Manager in day-to-day oversight. You will lead safety meetings, oversee lift operations, manage staff scheduling, and direct attendants to stations while maintaining guest safety and service.

The role requires interpersonal skills, outdoor work in all weather, and the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must interact with guests in a safe, friendly manner.
• Outdoor work in all types of weather.
• Evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Seasonal Full Time or Part Time; late November/early December to mid-March.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted Virginia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of all ski lifts in a safe, professional manner.
• Assist with scheduling for lift and tubing staff.
• Coordinate with Lift Maintenance to ensure proper operation.
• Lead safety meetings and enforce policies and procedures.
• Greet guests and address questions or concerns.
• Direct lift and tubing attendants and assign tasks.
• Maintain inventory of tools and supplies for operations.
• Perform pre-season, in-season, and post-season office and work-area cleaning.

# Lift SupervisorWintergreen - Nellysford, VA 22958## OverviewPosition TypeSeasonal## Description**SUMMARY:**Responsible for opening or closing Lift Operations. Assists the Lift/Tubing Operation Manager in overseeing the day to day operation of all Lift/Tubing operations. Capable to perform administrative tasks as assigned including: direction of safety meetings, record keeping and assignment of tasks to lift and tubing attendants.**SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES*** Report to work on time for all scheduled shifts.* Must be in uniform when on duty.* “Lead by example” for a safe work environment.* Greet Guests in a friendly manner and assist with any questions or concerns.* Oversees the daily operation of all ski lifts in a safe and professional manner.* Assists with time management & scheduling for the lift & tubing operations staff.* Coordinates all operations with Lift Maintenance staff to ensure proper operation and care of mechanical equipment.* Understands and follows ANSI B-77 codes, as well as federal, state, insurance and manufacturers requirement for ski area operations.* Assigns and facilitates shuttle of lift staff to work stations each shift.* Maintains inventory of tools and supplies to ensure sufficient number on hand, proper usage, storage, etc.* Performs routine cleaning of Lift Office and lift operations work areas pre-season, throughout the season and in the spring following the close of the ski area operations.* Must follow policies and procedures outlined in the Wintergreen Handbook and departmental training.* Must be able to take on additional tasks and assignments as directed by the Lift Operations Manager, or Director of Mountain Operations.## Qualifications# **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*** Must interact with guests in a safe, friendly, and positive manner.* Tolerable of working outdoors for extended periods of time in all types of weather conditions.* Considered applicants must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.* Must have good organizational, administrative and leadership skills. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.This is Seasonal Full Time or Part Time positions.
