Job summary

City of Oxford in Oxford, MS seeks a Lift Station Operator to manage and maintain all lift stations in the wastewater collection system. You will monitor performance, coordinate repairs, and rebuild pumps and controls to ensure compliance with city standards.

The role requires a DEQ certification, a high school diploma, and at least five years’ experience in mechanical construction, plumbing, and electricity, plus a Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• DEQ certification required.
• Minimum five years of mechanical construction, plumbing and electricity experience.
• Ability to work in teams and meet deadlines.
• Willing to obtain Hepatitis A vaccine due to exposure to waste.
• Must pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all lift stations in Oxford wastewater system.
• Check stations and perform repairs or coordinate repairs.
• Rebuild pumps and controls.
• Oversee construction to City specs.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies.
• Test lift stations and force mains before acceptance.
