Job summary

Crested Butte Mountain Resort is seeking Lift Operators to join the Lift Experience team, ensuring safe operation of a multi-million-dollar lift and guiding guests through premier mountain terrain.

No experience is required; training is provided. The role is winter seasonal 2026/2027 with starting pay of $20.00/hr and full-time hours, outdoors in varying weather, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• No experience is necessary; we train all lift operators (including returnees).
• Must be able to make quick decisions and use judgment regarding safety.
• Must be physically capable of assisting guests while loading lifts; may lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of inclement weather, standing and moving for entire shift.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be willing to perform alternate functions during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor the safety of passengers while providing instruction and customer service in loading/unloading of lifts; manage lift speed as needed.
• Operate lift to maximize chair capacity per Lift Experience guidelines and performance reporting.
• Proactively notify maintenance/dispatch of repair needs.
• Work with Lift Maintenance to learn proper lift operation.
• Implement emergency procedures as required, including contacting Patrol.
• Ensure lift is ready for operations; set up/disassemble lift maze daily.
