Job summary

Vail Resorts is hiring a Lift Operator for the Winter Seasonal 2026/2027 program. No prior lift experience is necessary as training is provided. You will monitor passenger safety, load/unload passengers, and ensure smooth operation of lifts in mountain conditions.

You’ll collaborate with Lift Maintenance, handle emergencies, and help set up the maze each day, while following safety procedures and company policies. Weekend work and outdoor duties are required.

Qualifications

• No experience is necessary; lift operators are trained on the job.
• Ability to make quick safety judgments and multitask under pressure.
• Physically capable of assisting guests and lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather, standing for long shifts.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Willingness to perform alternate duties during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor passenger safety and provide loading/unloading instructions.
• Operate lifts to maximize chair capacity per guidelines and reports.
• Notify maintenance/dispatch of repairs or needs.
• Learn operation from Lift Maintenance and collaborate accordingly.
• Implement emergency procedures when required and contact Patrol.
• Set up/disassemble lift maze daily per standards; ensure maze safety.
• Follow all company and departmental policies and maintain a clean work area.
• Support ticket scanning and perform other duties as assigned.
