Job summary

Crystal Mountain, part of the Alterra Mountain Company family, is seeking a Lift Operator to safely and efficiently operate the ski lift and assist guests with loading and unloading. This seasonal on-site role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and reliability, with duties ranging from operating the lift, crowd control, to keeping the station clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Ski/Snowboard experience preferred.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to maximize use of time and resources.
• Previous lift operation experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a ski lift.
• Be attentive at the load and unload terminals; watching not only ramp, but all areas around your station.
• Perform opening procedures at the ski lift and lift maze.
• Assisting guests of all ages and abilities to load and unload chairlifts safely.
• Enthusiastically interact with guests at every opportunity.
• Prepare and maintain a safe and aesthetically pleasing workspace throughout the day as conditions change (shoveling, raking, moving snow) by completing physically demanding tasks.
• Complete required documentation such as daily logs and other documents as needed, legibly and accurately.
• Work independently or in groups to accomplish daily job-related tasks.
• Maintain the lift chairs by removing snow, ice, and precipitation for guests.
• Perform closing procedures at the ski lift and lift maze.
• Conduct/manage crowd control in lift mazes.
• Present yourself with a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Be respectful to all employees and guests at all times.
• Follow all skiing policies and codes.
• Must be dependable and reliable.
