The Summit at Snoqualmie, operated by Boyne Resorts, is seeking a Lift Operator to ensure safe loading and unloading of guests, perform equipment inspections, and deliver exceptional guest service at The Summit Experience.

Located just east of Seattle, the resort offers mountain activities year-round. The Lift Operator will play a key role in guest safety, crowd control, and efficient operation of lift systems while working in a dynamic, seasonal environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer experience required.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Demonstrate reliability with strong work ethic and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible to work varied schedules based on seasonal demands and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily lift startup procedures including inspection of drive/return terminal machinery, tower systems, safety stops, speed controls, indicator lights, switches, and braking systems.
  • Assist guests onto chairs and manage lift queues; verify lift access via RFID gate monitoring.
  • Ensure safe guest disembarking and assist guests as needed.
  • Monitor lift operations and report issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Retrieve and return guest belongings to owners or Lost & Found.
  • Deliver high-quality guest service and maintain knowledge of resort amenities and services.
  • Complete additional duties to support overall resort operations.

Overview

The Lift Operator is responsible for the efficient loading and unloading of the lift’s passengers. Other responsibilities include guest relations, ticket security, crowd control, monitoring of drive and tension terminal machinery, correct handling of emergency situations, and the performance of assigned tasks not necessarily related to this specific job, but essential to the successful operation of the resort.

Come work and play at Seattle’s home mountain, The Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour from Seattle, at the junction where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses Interstate 90. With summer activities ramping up with spectacular Mountain Biking trails and Scenic Lift Rides, there is lots to do all year long.

Responsibilities

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute daily lift startup procedures including comprehensive inspection of drive and return terminal machinery, tower systems, safety stops, speed controls, indicator lights, switches, and braking systems.
  • Facilitate safe guest boarding by actively assisting passengers onto chairs, providing clear instructions to novice riders, and maintaining organized lift queues. Verify proper lift access through RFID gate monitoring via tablet and handheld scanner validation.
  • Ensure safe guest disembarking by closely monitoring passenger exit procedures and providing assistance to guests as needed.
  • Continuously monitor lift operations and respond promptly to equipment issues by alerting supervisors or maintenance personnel to problems or unsafe conditions.
  • Retrieve and return guest belongings including skis, snowboards, poles, clothing, and personal items, either directly to owners or to the lost and found department.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by adhering to resort hospitality standards, maintaining comprehensive knowledge of resort amenities and services, and responding to all guest and employee inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Complete additional assigned duties that support overall resort operations and contribute to our collective success.

Required

Wage and Benefit Info:

The wage range for this positions is: from $22.00 to $23.00/hr

This is a non-benefited role.

All individuals may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2-year vesting cliff).
All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
All Team Members may participate in our Ally Heath benefit. It gives fast and easy access to Telemedicine and Mental Health appointments. It covers all family members and there are no copays or deductibles. It is a $4 deduction each week.
