The Summit at Snoqualmie, operated by Boyne Resorts, seeks an experienced Lift Operations Supervisor to oversee chairlifts, gondolas, and surface lifts. You will lead leads and operators, manage budgets, and enforce safety policies across shifts to ensure guest safety and smooth mountain operations.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of lift operations, safety systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • 3–5 years of management experience with leadership in lift operations or related field.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives and safety programs.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, safety protocols, and risk management in lift operations.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, government agencies, and senior leadership.
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules including weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate mountain vehicles and specialized lift equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee lift operations including chairlifts, gondolas, surface lifts, and associated facilities across the mountain
  • Manage and develop lift operations leads, operators, and coordination of staff across all shifts
  • Assist in the development of department budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocation strategies for lift operations
  • Create and implement standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and emergency response plans for all lift systems
  • Conduct performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and recognition programs for all lift operations staff
  • Establish and monitor safety standards and operational procedures for all lift systems and guest loading areas
  • Conduct regular operational audits, safety inspections, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal lift safety regulations, insurance requirements, and industry standards
  • Coordinate with Lift Maintenance on equipment schedules, major repairs, and system upgrades
  • Oversee daily lift operations including startup procedures, safety checks, and operational decision-making
  • Lead incident investigation processes and coordinate with Risk Management, Legal, and regulatory agencies
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety training programs and staff certification requirements
  • Establish emergency response procedures and crisis management protocols for all lift systems
  • Serve as primary liaison with Mountain Operations, Ski Patrol, and Executive Leadership on lift operations
  • Coordinate with Guest Services on complaint resolution and operational communication
  • Assist with the development of seasonal operational planning including staffing, training schedules, and capacity management
  • Create guest communication initiatives and operational status reporting systems
  • Manage departmental budgets including labor, equipment, maintenance, and operational expenses
  • Manage compliance documentation and reporting requirements
  • Perform assigned tasks not necessarily related to this specific job, but essential to the successful operation of the resort

Overview

The Lift Operations Supervisor position is responsible for comprehensive oversight of lift operations across multiple chairlifts, gondolas, and surface lifts at an assigned base area. This role oversees lift operations lead operators and operators, develop operational policies and safety procedures, ensures compliance with regulatory standards and risk management protocols, and serves as the primary liaison between lift operations and senior mountain management. The Lift Operations Supervisor drives operational excellence through strategic leadership, budget management, staff development, and maintaining industry-leading safety and guest experience standards while ensuring seamless integration with broader mountain operations and regulatory compliance.

Come work and play at Seattle's home mountain, The Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour from Seattle, at the junction where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses Interstate 90. With summer activities ramping up with spectacular Mountain Biking trails and Scenic Lift Rides, there is lots to do all year long.

Wage and Benefit Info

The wage range for this positions is: from $28.00 to $32.00/hr DOE

This is a non-benefited role.

All individuals may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2 year vesting cliff).

All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
