Job summary

Brighton Resort is seeking fun, energetic Lift Operators to join our Lift Operations Team. You will help create a safe, welcoming mountain experience, loading/unloading riders and assisting guests.

No prior experience required; we provide training. These positions are available as full-time or part-time, with peak-holiday availability required.

Join a close-knit team and enjoy the outdoors while helping guests make memories on The Greatest Snow on Earth.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to lift 35 lbs and push/pull 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable outdoors in all weather conditions for long periods.
  • Able to ski or snowboard safely at a beginner level.
  • Strong communication and a focus on safety and guest service.
  • Able to stay attentive and focused on surroundings for extended periods.
  • Committed to following safety procedures and addressing hazards immediately.
  • Willing to work holidays and a mix of day/night shifts.
  • Able to work at heights.
  • Passion for the outdoors.
  • Reliable travel to the resort in varying weather.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize Safety by following operating procedures and hazard checks.
  • Greet riders with a friendly presence and provide loading/unloading instructions.
  • Answer questions about conditions, events, and terrain to guests.
  • Deliver excellent guest service while maintaining a safe environment.
  • Operate lifts according to procedures and complete daily inspections and logs.
  • Manage lines and loading chairs to full capacity.
  • Support teamwork with ski patrol, lift maintenance, and other departments.

Overview

Brighton Resort is looking for fun, energetic, and enthusiastic people to join our Lift Operations Team! Lift Operators play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and memorable mountain experience for every guest. This position is perfect for those who enjoy working outdoors, being part of a close-knit team, and sharing the excitement of skiing and snowboarding with our guests.

Lift Operators focus on safety, efficiency, and guest servicewhile operating chairlifts and assisting riders of all ability levels. Duties include loading and unloading guests, monitoring lift operations, maintaining a safe environment, and helping guests have fun while they enjoy "The Greatest Snow on Earth." No prior experience is necessary,we'll provide all the training you need!

At Brighton, Lift Operator roles are available in both full-time and part-time schedules so you can find the fit that works best for you. All operators must be available to work during peak holiday periods.

  • Full-Time Lift Operators work more than 32 hours per week. They are typically scheduled for at least five shifts, including at least one day shift, one night shift, and one shift on Friday or Saturday.
  • Part-Time Lift Operators work fewer than 32 hours per week. They are typically scheduled for at least two shifts per week, with three preferred, and at least one shift on Monday, Friday, or Saturday.

Responsibilities

As a Lift Operator you will contribute to Brighton's LEADS values by:

  • Prioritize Safety by:
    • Staying alert to hazards, following all operating and emergency procedures, and making safe decisions in every situation.
  • Serve First by:
    • Greeting every rider with a friendly, approachable presence, offering clear loading and unloading instructions, and helping guests feel confident and comfortable on the lift.
    • Acting as a Brighton ambassador, answering questions about conditions, events, and terrain, and helping guests get the most from their day.
  • Show that Attitude is Everything by:
    • Staying positive and composed in all weather and guest situations, making safety your top priority while delivering excellent service.

    • Operating lifts according to all procedures, adjusting speeds when necessary for safety, and completing daily inspections and logs accurately.
    • Responding quickly and effectively to unusual situations, from assisting a struggling guest to following emergency procedures.
    • Effectively managing lines and loading chairs to full capacity.
  • Think Long Term by:
    • Keeping loading and unloading areas safe and well-prepared through regular snow removal, ramp raking, and hazard checks, ensuring reliable and efficient operations all season.
  • Develop Great People by:
    • Supporting your teammates, sharing knowledge, and communicating effectively with ski patrol, lift maintenance, and other departments to keep the mountain running smoothly.
Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Are experienced in outdoor, high-traffic, or safety-critical roles
  • Have hospitality, recreation, or guest service experience
  • Ski or snowboard safely at an intermediate level
