Job summary

Brighton Resort seeks a Lift Lead to oversee daily lift operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction on the mountain.

You'll supervise a small team, coach operators, manage break schedules, complete logs and inspections, and collaborate with patrol and maintenance to uphold resort standards. Outdoor work in all weather is expected.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs and push/pull 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Comfort working outdoors in all weather for long periods.
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at least at an intermediate level.
  • Strong communication skills with focus on safety and guest service.
  • Ability to stay attentive and focused for extended periods.
  • Commitment to safety procedures and hazard response.
  • Willingness to work with teammates from diverse backgrounds.
  • Availability for at least five shifts per week, including peak holidays, with day and night shifts as scheduled.
  • Passion for the outdoors.
  • Reliable commuting to the resort in various weather conditions.
  • Experience in safety-critical and guest service roles.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience, even in small teams.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and lead by example.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee lift operations during shifts to ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Monitor operators and guests, address hazards promptly.
  • Coordinate with other leads, ski patrol, and maintenance to resolve safety concerns.
  • Support lift team by providing clear, friendly instructions to guests.
  • Assist operators with challenging guest situations or questions about conditions, events, and terrain.
  • Act as a positive role model, maintaining professionalism and patience in all interactions.
  • Remain composed in all weather and guest scenarios.
  • Encourage a positive, team-focused mindset among operators.
  • Perform lift operator duties, including loading/unloading and line management.
  • Complete daily logs, inspections, and paperwork on time.
  • Coordinate operator breaks, tasks, and rotations.
  • Maintain load & unload areas in excellent condition.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in lift operations, including maze setup and signage adjustments.
  • Identify recurring issues and communicate solutions to leadership.
  • Lead, coach, and train operators on safe and efficient practices.
  • Communicate effectively with leads and management for team success.

Brighton Resort is looking for fun, energetic, and enthusiastic people to join ourLift Operations Team! Lift Leads play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and memorable mountain experience for every guest. This position is perfect for those who enjoy working outdoors, being part of a close-knit team, and sharing the excitement of skiing and snowboarding with our guests. Lift Leads are experienced operators who take on added responsibilities to help keep their assigned lift running safely and smoothly. They oversee a lift during day-to-day operations and work with a small team of leads for that lift to monitor performance, support operators, and keep operations in line with resort and industry standards. Leads perform the same duties as operators while also helping with break scheduling, training, and daily paperwork. They communicate with other leads and lift operations leadership to address issues and coordinate adjustments. Above all, Lift Leads set a positive example, stay attentive to safety, and are a resource for their teammates. Leads should be available for at least five shifts per week and must be available during peak holiday periods.

Responsibilities

  • Have experience leading teams in outdoor, high-traffic, or safety-critical environments.
