Job summary

Vail Resorts is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Lift Experience team. You will oversee safe operation of resort lifts, supervise staff, and ensure courteous guest service while leading a high-performing team.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, safety enforcement, and cross-department collaboration to maintain smooth lift operations and guest satisfaction. Must have 2-3 years of lift operations experience and be available for a flexible winter-season schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of previous lift or mountain operations experience required.
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of inclement weather, standing and moving for entire shift on potentially slippery or uneven surfaces.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of resort lifts, schedule staff, and manage opening/closing procedures.
• Train and coach leads and operators in safety and operations.
• Monitor operator performance and provide feedback.
• Maintain knowledge of laws, policies, and procedures to ensure guest safety.
• Collaborate with ski patrol, mountain safety, lift maintenance to resolve issues on the mountain.
• Address guest questions, comments and complaints with timely resolutions.
• Develop departmental strategies around KPIs including safety, guest service, and employee engagement.
• Create and maintain employee work schedules within department budget.
• Complete coaching/disciplinary sessions and performance reviews.
• Follow uniform, appearance, and attendance standards and uphold guest service.
