Principal Responsibilities:

Position Title: Lifeguard

Accountable to: Pool Operator and Swim Gym Technical Director

Qualifications: Must possess the following valid certifications: CPR, First Aid, L.G., WSI (A Plus)

Primary Objectives: To guard the safety of our patrons, maintain a clean and safe facility, and promote a safe and friendly environment.

HOURS: 8:30 - 3:30 Monday- Friday; Weekend shifts available

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
• Record chemicals, check water levels, and perform pool maintenance duties as part of safety and cleanliness protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness of pool, deck, and access areas, including equipment management.
• Accurate record-keeping of attendance and daily tasks.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings, keep certifications up to date.
• Work scheduled hours and understand the master schedule.
• Outdoor guard-stand umbrella management during shifts.
• Maintain a friendly working environment and positive relationships.
