Job summary

The City of New London is hiring part-time lifeguards at the New London Aquatic and Fitness Center. Starting wage is $10.75 per hour or based on experience. After certification, pay increases to $11.05 per hour.

Training including ARC Lifeguard Training and AED will be provided. Applicants must be reliable, able to swim and work flexible daytime hours. Responsibilities include lifeguarding, teaching swim lessons, enforcing pool rules, performing safety checks, and assisting with events.

Qualifications

• Must be able to swim and be reliable.
• Certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR, and First Aid is preferred or training provided.
• Willing to obtain Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.
• Experience in customer service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lifeguard and instruct swim lessons.
• Report discipline of patrons, accidents and incidents to Aquatic Manager.
• In-service training.
• Check chemicals.
• Lifesaving techniques – supporting victim, removing from pool.
• Help organize special events.
• Customer service.
• Cleaning.

The New London Aquatic and Fitness Center is looking to hire Part Time Lifeguards for hours available throughout the day. Students and adults are encouraged to apply!!! Must be reliable, hardworking, and able to swim. Training, including certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Automated External Defibrillation, will be provided. • Generate report cards for swim lessons
• Trained in CPR and First Aid (certification can be provided)

• First-Aid, Patient Transport Apparatus, 2-way CPR mask and AED Equipment (Training provided)
